Winning Art Display From Local Youth Lgbqt+ Art Competition

Elephant Art, based at innovative coworking space provider Huckletree in the MediaWorks building at White City Place, recently launched an art competition in conjunction with Hammersmith & Fulham’s Youth Council for LGBQT+ history month.

Artists aged 9-15 from the local community in West London were invited to enter poster designs on the subject of LGBQT+ history and the competition received over 350 entries. The nine finalists impressed the judges with work touching on ideas of community, inclusion, family and gender binaries.

The winning entries can be seen adorning the front wall of Elephant Space, a creative studio on Wood Lane opposite White City Place.

The winners also received creative mentoring, art supplies provided by Elephant Art, as well as a cash prize kindly donated by construction company Kier, which was recently appointed to start construction of 142 new affordable homes at Macfarlane Place, Television Centre, on Wood Lane, a stones throw from White City Place and Elephant Art.
