White City Place Hosts Wonder Women Live With H&f Mayor For International Women’S Day

In celebration of International Women’s Day, White City Place hosted Wonder Women Live with Hammersmith & Fulham Mayor, Cllr Patricia Quigley, bringing remarkable women from television and the creative industries together to network and share their stories.

At a time when 75% of the freelancing community are not working, the event was crucial to helping retain women in the industry who might otherwise leave. Hundreds of women who are at a mid-senior level attended, representing companies such as ITV, BBC, Channel 4, Sky and Amazon.

Attendees had the chance to hear from several respected women leading the way in the television industry during a panel discussion hosted by television presenter Ria Hebden. Panellists included Amelia Brown, CEO of Fremantle UK, Kalpna Patel-Knight, BBC Head of Entertainment and Charlene White, ITV News journalist and Loose Women Presenter. Former Channel 4 Editor of News & Current Affairs, Dorothy Byrne also shared fascinating insights into her personal career journeys.

Many women left the event feeling awe-inspired, informed and empowered, “Such positive energy in the room and women supporting women to be at their best. Inspiring! I'm so glad I came.”
