White City Place Hosts Biannual Occupiers Sustainability Forum

At White City Place, we’re always on the lookout for ways to improve our environmental and social impact. Yesterday, the White City Place team and business occupiers met at the first Sustainability Forum of 2024 to discuss environmental and social impact.

Over the course of 2023 White City Place has taken various actions to improve our waste management, reduce waste contamination and increase the overall recycling rate. We have implemented a more efficient multi-waste disposal system, including bins for batteries and vapes, opted for clear rubbish bags instead of opaque and implemented larger disposal bin for office electrical items, such as keyboards, mice and speakers.

White City Place’s top recycling occupier was Jellycat; 77% of their waste in 2023 was recyclable!

White City Place is passionate about fostering biodiversity and is proud to maintain their Green Flag status. Our green spaces serve as natural habitats, promoting local flora and fauna and contributing to a healthier environment. Our landscaping team have worked to implement natural pesticides, encouraging cross-pollination, fauna diversity and bee-friendly environments.

To end the forum, the White City Place team reflected on their social outreach with a guest speaker from Jack Tizard School. In 2023, White City Place businesses were delighted to host work placements for students with severe learning difficulties, with both students and businesses finding the experience rewarding.

Throughout 2023 White City Place collaborated with over 20 different charities and community interest companies, raising awareness of social issues within the community and increasing visibility of local talent.
