On Saturday 8th March, the Original Marathon returns to White City Place for its second year, with runners finishing on the iconic 1908 Olympic marathon finish line. The event invites participants to follow in the footsteps of legends while celebrating the origins of the modern marathon.
The distance of 26.2 miles, now standard for marathons worldwide, was established during the 1908 London Olympic Games. The race ran from Windsor Castle to The White City Stadium, with its final lap adjusted to finish in front of the Royal Box, where White City Place now stands.
This year, 75 runners will follow in Olympic footsteps, with the fastest expected to complete the course in just over three hours.
The event is held in partnership with Aspire, a charity supporting people with Spinal Cord Injury. To donate or learn more about Aspire, click here. To learn more about Original Marathon, click here.
Good luck to all runners participating!
