Repurposing The Pod: From Recording Studio To Community Oasis

White City Place has transformed its old podcast recording studio, The Pod, into a tranquil space for community use, instead of sending it off for scraps.

The studio was initially designed to cater to podcasters and brands, offering high-quality equipment and professional audio engineering assistance. Now with the help of Event Cycle, it has been repurposed and given a new home. All recording equipment was removed and the boxy studio was transported to local community garden, The Small Quarter, in Merton, South London.

The Small Quarter now use The Pod as an indoor community hideout, offering users an escape from the rain or chance to pause. The addition to their community space supports their mission of using gardens and outdoor spaces to benefit people’s mental well-being through social referral.
