The first large scale public art commission for White City Place, Every Second In Between, will launch in WestWorks on Monday 14th May. In partnership with landowners Stanhope, Mitsui Fudosan and AIMCo, the exhibition - by artist Kyung Hwa Shon from the Royal College of Art - will feature a site-specific abstract art installation distributed across the new public spaces in White City Place. The exhibition will be open weekdays between 8.00 – 18.00 and weekends between 10.00 – 18.00 until August.
Through a process of drawings, collage and digital manipulation, the installation combines material from local landmarks, urban landscape and street signage. Included are aspects of the iconic Television Centre and Loftus Road Football Stadium, Westway highway and the White City housing estate.
Join Kyung Hwa Shon in conversation with Dr Filipa Matos Wunderlich for the exhibition preview on Monday 14 May between 18.00-20.30, in the WestWorks Studio at White City Place, 201 Wood Lane, London W12 7TU. On Tuesday 15 May workers and residents will be given the chance to reclaim their lunch hour on a 45 minute well-being walk around White City led by artist Ania Bas. The tours, taking place at 12.00 and 13.00, will include a complimentary lunch courtesy of Butterscotch Bakery.
