Hammersmith & Fulham Council held a FREE education, employment and training event on Thursday 30 September in the WestWorks foyer and studio. The event ran from noon to 2pm and 2.30pm to 4.30pm. Several hundred 16-25 year olds from across the Borough came through the doors and were offered the opportunity to meet employers, get a mentor and learn important skills.
There was a diverse range of employers and training providers at the event. Construction specialists Berkeley Group were present along with Construction Youth who were helping attendees to secure a free CSCS card and Health and Safety certificate. Queens Park Rangers were challenging the young people with their employment programme... and a few football tricks, offering the chance to win a football shirt. Attendees could brush up on their job search skills with Spear; and try out Action West London’s interview skills workshop for a chance to win £50-100 vouchers. There were also representatives from WorkZone, Publicis Media, K West Hotel, the Met Police, Landsec and WCP occupiers L’Oréal to discuss vacancies and apprenticeships.
