We were delighted to host local community interest company ASE (Active Successful Engagement) for their 13-week Freedom Programme in the Westworks building at White City Place.
The Freedom Programme is a 13-week support group specifically for women and girls at risk of or facing domestic abuse, which includes various forms of abuse, such as psychological and financial.
Freedom offers weekly, 3-hr group sessions led by facilitators with lived experience. Each participant receives a complementary copy of “Living with the Dominator” by Pat Craven, and together learn and identify the characteristics of a dominator such as the Bully, the Liar and the Jailor.
A wonderful group of inspiring females were able to make new connections and build friendships while sharing their experiences in a safe and non-judgemental space and importantly, gradually build the skills and confidence needed to recognise red flags and repeated patterns of abusive behaviour in relationships to develop positive and healthy relationships.
In addition, H&F Parent/Carer Champions were also available to offer a range of advice/guidance and signposting for a range of topics.
Stay tuned to learn more about future upcoming workshops!
